MY FIRST POLITICAL VISIT WILL BE INDIA: PM |
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said his first political visit will be to India.
My visit to China was just to attend the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, it was not a political visit, PM Dahal said after returning from the visit of China. In reply to a question about the negative comment on India about the visit, he said: I would have attended the ceremony in New Delhi if the Olympic was held there. It was just a coincident. There was no need of apprehension about the visit. PM Dahal met Chinese president Hu Jintao, Prime Minister Wen Jiabao and senior officials in addition to taking part in the closing ceremony of the OLympic games. This was his first visit after assuming the office of the Prime Minister of Nepal. PM Dahal was invited by Indian prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh immediately after he was elected to the post. Political analysts believe that the visit was a couragious step taken by Nepal's Communist Prime Minister as it was the choice of Nepal - not India- which country to visit first. |
