"I am going to school today , mum", said Jo. Jo Whitley was an 11th grader at the Bulmershe School. He was 15 years old. He has a sister called Jenaie. She was 8 years younger than him. He lived in a three, himself his mom and his sister. His dad had died when Jo was ten because of lung cancer.
Jo had bad asthma and to make this matter worse he smoked. He already had been caught smoking and this made his mom very upset because his dad passed away because of smoking. But people did not know that Jo started smoking after his dad died and he had not stopped since. He could not help it. He was addicted to it. She kept telling him that she didn’t want to lose another person. As a result, he had promised never to smoke again.
One day Jenaie came downstairs with her piggy bank. "There's nothing hereâ€, Jenaie cried showing her piggy bank sadly to her mom. “But I let you to keep the two pounds coins of the change from buying fish and chipsâ€, said Mrs. Whitley looking amused. “Exactly someone's been stealing my money†screamed Janaie.
"OK here is the plan, I will put money in your piggy bank and put it in your shelf like usualâ€. “I will put blue paint in a bucket and tie it to your piggy bankâ€. “So when someone reaches it the blue paint will fall on themâ€, explained Mrs. Whitley. “OK mom†sighed Jenaie.
So that evening mom took duvet and waited in the closet. At about 11:00 o’clock, ma’am heard a thud and she came out. She turned on the lights and saw Jo covered in blue. After having a shower mom went to Jo’s room and talked to him.
Jo can you tell me why you stole money of your sister rather than ask me? ‘Cause I want to get some new game off my friend, answered Jo Common Jo, I wasn’t born yesterday, you know. You haven't stopped smoking, have you? Asked Mrs. Whitley. Jo, I would let you smoke if nothing would happened to you. I don’t want to lose another one, mom said sobbing. Please Jo don’t smoke. I’m sure you understand.
Next day at school
Here Jo, have a fag, said nick, Jo’s the best mate. Sorry man I cannot. Why not? I just can’t man. Sorry. Wussy wussy started chanting Nick and his other friend.Jo had to take one. All right, all right said Jo and started smoking.
At lunch time Jo felt a pain in his chest. Ahh man, Ahh you stop acting said Nick and went away. After a few more minutes of pain Jo started gasping for air and fell to the floor. He’s screamed inside but nothing could be heard. Jo was dead. It was all revealed afterwards that Jo had died of lung cancer.
